Dhamana za Serikali za muda mfupi (Treasury bills) na hisa zinazoweza kulipa gawio ni vyombo tofauti. Kimoja ni deni la Serikali lenye muda maalumu; kingine ni umiliki katika kampuni. Ulinganisho mzuri huanza na utaratibu wa kila chombo, si ahadi ya mapato.

Dhamana za Serikali za muda mfupi hutolewa kwa siku 91, 182 au 364 na huuzwa kwa mnada. Bei ya ununuzi na thamani inayolipwa dhamana inapokomaa ndizo huamua mavuno. Matokeo ya mnada yanaeleza rekodi iliyochapishwa; hayahakikishi bei ambayo mwekezaji angepata akiihamisha kabla ya kukomaa.
